Nuclear Instrumentation Scientist Joins Regent

Dr. Paul K. Obeng has been appointed as the Dean of the School of Informatics, Engineering and Technology (SIET) as a replacement for Dr. Stanley Moffatt, now Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Dr. Obeng is a Nuclear Instrumentation Specialist with several years of teaching and practical experience.

He obtained his PhD in Physics in 2013 from the University of Cape Coast. He aslo obtained his MSc. Degree in Physics and Mathematics (Radio

and Electronics Option) at the Friendship University, Moscow, Russia in 1983. Between May 1985 and March 2013, he worked as a Senior Research Officer and Manager of Digital Electronics and Nuclear Instrumentation Centre (DENIC), now Engineering Services Centre (ESC) of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.

He was also a lecturer at the Graduate School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences, University of Ghana, Atomic Campus where he taught Nuclear Instrumentation and Electronics and Nucleonics. At University of Cape Coast (UCC), Physics Department, Dr. Obeng taught both Microprocessor Technology, and Microprocessor Design I & II for level 400 and MPhil students respectively. As a team leader at Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), Dr. Obeng and his colleagues participated in various COMPUTECH Shows in Ghana where they won several awards.

Dr. Obeng brings to Regent University College a wealth of experience in his field of specialization to support the vision and mission of the university as we aim at making Regent University a place of excellence and a world class institution.

Finally, Dr. J. Boakye has been appointed the Director for Institutional Research, Planning & Quality Management.

The Director for Institutional Research, Planning & Quality Management is responsible for contributing to management decision making regarding academic, administrative and support services, associated with the University’s business.

Dr. Boakye earned his Ph.D. in Economics and Human Resources at the University of Illinois (USA), MSc. at the University of Guelph (Canada), and BSc at the University of Ghana.

Dr. Boakye will work and contribute to quality standards, cost management, efficiency and productivity.
